Hyperion Unveils New Business Intelligence Tools

Hyperion Reaches Out

Hyperion admits that it just can’t do it all. So to increase sales of its business-performance-management software into vertical markets it can’t reach, it’s expanding its channel-partner efforts with a new program that offers solution providers sales and marketing help, tech support and product certification.

Hyperion’s System 9 software is a mainstay in many companies’ financial-management and planning operations. But Hyperion isn’t as prevalent beyond the CFO office, even though components of System 9, including its business-intelligence and data-management tools, can be applied to a range of business functions such as sales, marketing and operations. And that’s particularly true in vertical industries like retail, consumer packaged goods and banking.

Hyperion Unveils Gadgets for Real-Time BI

December 11, 2006 (Computerworld) — Hyperion Solutions Corp. has unveiled software that it says can split its business intelligence and performance management products into small, customized applications that provide real-time data feeds to desktop systems. The new Hyperion System 9 Smart Space tool, introduced on Nov. 30, can create small, single-purpose applications called “gadgets” or “widgets” that sit on the desktop and continuously feed customized BI data to users, according to Hyperion. Smart Space, based on a service-oriented architecture, runs on Microsoft Windows XP and Vista and will allow users — without the intervention of IT — to link multiple gadgets to access data from various sources, said Srikant Gokulnatha, Hyperion’s senior director of product marketing.

Hyperion encourages partners to verticalize BPM platform

Hyperion Solutions Corp has launched a new global partner program called SolutionsNet to help its partners build and deploy industry-specific versions of its System 9 business performance management software. Hyperion’s BPM software has already established itself as the gold standard for performance management in the office of finance. Santa Clara, California-based Hyperion now wants to carry that success over into broader operational areas in the enterprise and across vertical industries.

Hyperion Enhances BPM Upgrade With Better Integration, Data Sharing

Hyperion Solutions Corp. on Monday said it has upgraded its System 9 performance management and analytics software with better integration tools and the ability to share data across departments.

Hyperion System 9 Release 9.3 also includes the option of delivering analytics through Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and offers integration with Google’s enterprise search appliance.

In bridging the BI gap between departments, such as financial, marketing, sales and product development, Santa Clara, Calif.-based Hyperion has introduced what it calls the BPM Architect. BPM stands for business performance management.

Hyperion Solutions invests in BI co. HyperRoll

Israeli start-up HyperRoll Inc. today announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement Hyperion Solutions Corporation (Nasdaq:HYSL), which also will make a strategic investment in the company. The companies did not disclose the amount, but sources inform ”Globes” that HyperRoll has raised $10 million from Hyperion and venture capital funds.

Hyperion and Google onebox in the Enterprise
