In a bid to help customers quickly and easily gain greater insight into their business information, IBM has unveiled a data warehousing platform built upon its industry-leading DB2 9 “Viper” data server.
The DB2 Data Warehouse 9 is equipped with IBM’s patented pureXML technology helping customers store and use data in an XML format. XML acts as the standard data interchange format between disparate applications, businesses and domains. The format comes with DB2 9 “venom,” technology that compresses row data to decrease storage requirements, enhance I/O efficiency and offer quicker data access from the disk.
